LEGAL ASSISTANT

MARLENE LIRIO

Marlene has resided in San Diego her entire life. She attended San Diego Mesa College and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Chicano Studies. She plans on transferring to CSU San Marcos to complete the Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Marlene joined the law firm in May of 2019 as a legal assistant where she helps in daily tasks of the law firm.  In her spare time she enjoys playing guitar or ukulele and spending time with her family.

LEGAL ASSISTANT

AIDAN Z. WINTER

Aidan has worked for the Law Office of Michael Wax since August 2019 as a Legal Assistant. He is a recent graduate from San Diego State University (’20). During his time at SDSU, he majored in Political Science with a Certificate of Public Law; being named “Best Student of Public Law in the Class of 2020. He enjoys time with family and friends, skiing, and reading. Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Aidan hopes to stay in San Diego and pursue a career in law in the near future.

MONICA WAX

Monica Wax studied accounting and received a BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting from Cal State University in Long Beach in 1990.  She became a CPA in 1992 and worked at KPMG in the audit department for 5 years before leaving and entering the private sector in 1996.  She held various positions as a manager in technical accounting and financial reporting before she left her career in 2001 to try to start a family with her husband Michael Wax.  She came out of semi-retirement in 2005 after having three children and jumped back into the financial accounting and technical reporting area with some prominent San Diego companies.  In 2010 she decided to stop working completely to care for her family.  She came out of retirement in April of 2018 once more to assist her husband, Michael Wax, in the establishment of his law firm where she is now the office manager.  She assists in various aspects of the business, including accounting, human resources and other tasks associated with the law practice.  When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her kids, hiking, walking and skiing the Sierras with her family.
